Light:

Bright light - they three under artificial light, such as offices

Water Requirement:

Medium. The soil should be kept moist at all times, with the foliage kept dry. Drops of water on the leaves cause disfiguring, light-colored spots or rings. It’s best to water from the bottom of the pot, or use a self-watering pot into which a little water in poured every few days.

Fertilizer:

A balanced 20-20-20 is perfect for most growing conditions. They require less fertilizer during the fall and winter months.

Growth Habit:

Standard African violets (not miniature varieties) grow between 8-16”.

Noteworthy Characteristics:

A long time favorite houseplant. A low, compact, plant with attractive dark green, think, hairy, leaves. The violet-like flowers are borne in small panicles just above the foliage. Plants kept in good growing conditions flower almost continuously!
