ZZ Plant

ZZ_01.png

Botanical Name: Zamioculcas Zami

Light:

Low to bright filtered light

Water Requirement:

Low. Typically you can even forget a watering or two and it will still thrive. Allow the soil to dry between waterings. The easiest and most common mistake is over-watering!

Fertilizer:

Apply a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer (20-20-20) once a month when watering.

Growth Habit:

Slow growing to about 3’ tall and 1-2’ wide.

Noteworthy Characteristics:

When it comes to low-maintenance houseplants, ZZ is the gold standard. This waxy-leafed tropical is native to drought-prone Eastern Africa and has thick, succulent roots which allow it to withstand months without water. The result is a houseplant that is both beautiful and bulletproof.

A perfect choice for beginners and spaces without much natural light - they can even thrive under fluorescent lights of offices and commercial buildings. ZZ’s are resistant to diseases and insects, but toxic to pets!
